Towpath Survey by the Canal and River Trust

Towpath Survey

Canal and River Trust Logo.

The Canal and River Trust are asking for volunteers to survey the towpath in their area. They have created an app which can be used to upload detailed information.

Since all canals have unique characteristics, the purpose of the survey work is to gather and capture vital information about the waterway network. The survey will help support and inform the Trust’s decision-making on locations and types of towpath enhancement schemes and to help plan towpath improvements.

Decent, accessible towpaths are a just one part of what the Accessible Waterways Association is campaigning for. We would therefore encourage all our members to sign up to take part in this valuable survey so you can highlight any improvements needed to your local towpath.
